Rahat Taslim : An Inspirational Story
Sometime some realistic stories move you.
So much so that you start comparing your life with the person involved.
So much so that you feel sadistically good that your life is/was not as the other person.
So much so that you are grounded and look at life and your expectations more realistically.
So much so that when something good happens to that person your heart leaps with joy.
One such story that touched me was that of Rahat Taslim. The winner of the 1 crore rupee award in Kaun Banega Crorepati.
When I started reading the story i was dismissive of the story. But as i read more i got involved and by the end of the article i was overjoyed that she won the prize money.
Such stories lead to introspection. We earn enough money to run our families comfortably. Our desires though limited, on second thought seem unnecessary for our lives. Yet we covet for things which we might probably use less that 5 times in our entire life.
When a person runs a 4 member family with a monthly salary of Rs 8,000 and yet has a smile on his face I can only admire the spirit of life. Rahat Taslim as a wife has gone through a life which i had only seen as a child. The life where you think ten times before you buy something lest you cut short the pleasure of your children.
The determination, courage and the optimism shown by Rahat Taslim is indeed inspirational. Her life and her struggle always keeps me grounded to the reality of life. Hats-off Rahat.
